What happened at practice on Tuesday?
The Jets moved indoors for their second practice of the week on Tuesday. Here's what went down:
- Lucky Whitehead did not practice again but Freddie Bishop and Frank Beltre were back in pads.
- Bilal Powell made his return to team drills and had a run for a big gain early on in 11-on-11's and a couple of catches later on. Matt Forté remained out.
- Juston Burris, Myles White and Frankie Hammond were among the players getting first team reps in team periods.
- Demario Davis, Darron Lee and Buster Skrine had pass break-ups, Dylan Donahue tackled ArDarius Stewart for a loss and Muhammad Wilkerson blew up a screen pass in team periods. Derrick Jones also had a good pass break-up in red zone drills.
- The offense had trouble with the piped-in crowd noise, which caused them to use hand signals at the line. However, they responded to have a pretty decent day.
- Jamal Adams, Dexter McDougle and Jeremy Faulk recorded sacks. Adams also broke up a pass with a big hit on Eric Tomlinson and made a tackle in the flat near the goal line.
- New Jets receiver Daniel Williams beat Marcus Williams and caught a long pass from Christian Hackenberg, only to injure his hand on the play.
- Chad Hansen had a drop in team periods but rebounded to make a tough sideline catch shortly afterward. Jalin Marshall also had a bad drop in drills.
- Robby Anderson had a strong practice, catching balls from both Hackenberg and Josh McCown.
- Bryce Petty had some success in team periods, including a touchdown pass to Hansen.
- In red zone periods, McCown threw consecutive touchdown passes to Anderson and Julian Howsare. Hackenberg threw one to Anthony Firkser and Romar Morris ran for one.
We'll let you know if anyone says anything interesting after practice.
