What happened at practice on Thursday?
The Jets were back on the field on Thursday for their final practice of the week. Here's what went down:
- As anticipated, much of the practice took place at half-speed, with the Jets set to travel to Detroit for Saturday's game. The team was not in pads.
- Matt Forté did not practice and neither did Daniel Williams or Lorenzo Mauldin. Those three, along with Marquess Wilson, are not expected to play on Saturday. Williams has a concussion and Mauldin re-injured his back.
- Media was barred from recording videos, presumably because they were working on gameplan-specific stuff.
- Christian Hackenberg and Jonnotthan Harrison continue to get plenty of work with the first team offense. Freddie Bishop - who had a sack in team periods - continues to get work with the first team defense.
- Morris Claiborne had two interceptions - one on a Bryce Petty pass and another on a Hackenberg pass that went off the hands of Chris Harper. Petty also threw a pick to Marcus Williams.
- Petty made some nice passes to Gabe Marks, Frankie Hammond and Chad Hansen before throwing a touchdown to Jason Vander Laan.
- After practice, Todd Bowles confirmed that Quincy Enunwa expects to have season-ending surgery next week.
- Doug Middleton cleared waivers and has gone onto injured reserve.
