The Jets dropped a bomb on the Bills and your tankjob fantasies
In the game of the year so far, Sam Darnold had the first fourth quarter comeback and the first game-winning drive of his career as Elijah McGuire's fourth down touchdown dive gave the Jets a 27-23 win over the Bills.
Despite plenty of to-be-expected sloppiness from two poor teams, the battle of the rookie quarterbacks was enthralling as each had moments of magic and bad mistakes. Darnold overcame a terrible interception to find Robby Anderson on a spectacular touchdown pass and then hit Anderson on a deep ball to set up the winning score. Josh Allen, on the other hand, started strong but faded late as Trumaine Johnson picked him off twice, including in the last minute to ice the win.
The Jets might now end up picking closer to 10th than first overall in the draft, but it was otherwise an encouraging performance with some glimpses of a not-altogether-unpromising future.
This calls for a celebration!
Take it away, bedazzled Calvin Pace...
