Roster News: Practice squad beginning to take shape
The Jets have put together their practice squad and will presumably announce that this afternoon.
Here are the names that have leaked out so far.
- S Brandon Bryant;
- LB Frankie Luvu;
- RB DeAngelo Henderson; and
- WR Deontay Burnett;
(Sources: Darryl Slater, Connor Hughes, Mike Garafolo and John Glennon respectively).
Burnett was one of Sam Darnold's favorite targets at USC and reportedly had a decent preseason with the Titans, catching 11 passes. The 25-year old Henderson is 5'7" and a shifty runner who was a fan favorite with the Broncos. He hasn't played much in the regular season but ran for 231 yards on 54 carries in preseason over the last two years.
There will be more names released later, as the Jets can have up to 10 on the squad, but there may also be changes to this over the next few days as anyone released today by the Jets or any other team will need to clear waivers to be eligible to be added.
What do you make of this? Who should fill the remaining spots? Is there anyone you'd have liked to seen on here that was overlooked? Let us know in the comments.
