Roster News: Jets place Gardner on IR, add Hector, Swilling and Bailey to roster

The Jets have announced their roster moves ahead of Sunday's game:

Roster Moves:



▪️ Placed CB Sauce Gardner on IR

▪️ Signed DL Bruce Hector to active roster

▪️ Elevated CB Tre Swilling & OL Zack Bailey to roster

Gardner was already ruled out so the Jets are using that fact to create a roster spot for Hector, who earned more playing time last week but had used up his three practice squad elevations. Hector being elevated could mean that the Jets expect to be without Quinnen Williams, but they went with a five-man rotation last week so that's not necessarily the case.

Swilling and Bailey are perhaps being rewarded for their hard work on the practice squad during season because the Jets don't really need cover at their respective positions.
