Roster News: Jets waive Will Tye
The Jets announced a couple of moves today. This is presumably so they can clear the decks ready to activate Jalin Marshall who is now eligible to return from suspension:
We have waived TE Will Tye and released RB Marcus Murphy from the practice squad.https://t.co/s1tQQAIa7Z

Tye played a significant role over the first two games as the Jets had a series of injuries at the tight end position, but is surplus to requirements now that Austin Seferian-Jenkins is back from his suspension and Eric Tomlinson is back from injury. The writing was definitely on the wall for Tye when Neal Sterling was active ahead of him for Sunday's game.
Tye would be eligible to take Murphy's spot on the practice squad, assuming he clears waivers. With Jojo Natson already on the squad and Marshall back in the mix, the Jets probably feel they are set at the return positions right now.
