Roster News: Jets trade Steve McLendon to the Bucs

News broke this evening that the Jets are moving one of their captains to a contender:

#Bucs agreed to terms on a trade with Jets for NT Steve McClendon.

McLendon was in his fifth year as a Jet. The team went 21-49 during that time, but he was a consistently solid performer.

Reports indicated that the Jets are sending a 2023 seventh-round pick along with McLendon to the Bucs in the deal and will receive a 2022 sixth-round pick.

As for who will get more reps with McLendon gone, Nathan Shepherd was a healthy scratch today and Tanzel Smart was a recent addition to the practice squad.
