Roster News: Jets trade Mims to Detroit for draft compensation
It's not unexpected that the Jets would move on from Denzel Mims this offseason after his underwhelming 2021 and 2022 campaigns and with their receiver room re-stocked. What is surprising is that they're getting some compensation in spite of those struggles:

Mims was excused from reporting to camp yesterday, so we knew this was coming. Despite flashing at times, his overall performances were inconsistent and not impactful enough. It's a shame for a player who looked like a draft steal, but the Jets have bigger things on their mind.
This opens up a roster spot and we'll report back once we know who's getting it.
