Roster News: Jets trade Chris Herndon to Vikings
We're still keeping track of today's cuts via our live tracker but the Jets are also getting rid of one player for draft pick compensation:
The #Vikings have solved their TE issue, as they are trading for promising #Jets TE Chris Herndon in exchange for draft pick compensation, sources say. Agent @malkikawa later confirmed the deal. Herndon steps right in following Irv Smith’s knee injury.

UPDATE: Here's the compensation details...
Trade details: The #Vikings are trading a 2022 fourth-round pick to the #Jets for TE Chris Herndon and a 2022 sixth-round pick, per source. It wasn't on the transaction wire today, but the deal is done. https://t.co/KZGNmVpRrn

Herndon had an excellent rookie year, but missed nearly all of his second season and was disappointing last year until bouncing back with a strong last few games.
Having already cut Kenny Yeboah, this may yet mean that another shoe is set to drop at this position.
We'll update on the full cuts, which are due at the top of the hour, soon.
