Roster News: Jets to sign Xazavian Zalladay to active roster

This will probably be the first of a handful of similar moves by the Jets this weekend:

The #Jets are signing RB Xazavian Valladay to their roster from the practice squad and adding two years to have him under contract through 2025, per his agent @thelawmvp. It’s the team’s way of getting a jump on the reserve/future deals we’ll see once the regular season is over.

Valladay might not see the field this weekend, but - as the tweet says - this enables the team to ensure he's under contract so they can bring him to camp next July. Any of the players ruled out of Sunday's game could also be moved to injured reserve to enable them to also do this with a few other practice squad members.
