Roster News: Jets sign Jones, release Calitro

The Jets made a roster move today, releasing one of their undrafted free agent signings and replacing him with one of the players who attended rookie camp on a tryout basis.

On his way out is Villanova linebacker Austin Calitro, with Shorter University linebacker Jevaris Jones replacing him. Jones presumably outshone Calitro at camp to earn a deal. Here's our analysis on him:

Jones is 6'1" 228 and posted good stats last season at small-school Shorter University. Jones had 106 tackles, 6.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. He apparently has good speed, strength and explosiveness.
