Roster News: Jets sign Gragg, waive Cannon
For the third consecutive day, the Jets announced a roster move as they continue to tweak their roster ahead of Saturday's first training camp practice:
We have signed TE Chris Gragg and waived WR KD Cannon.

Gragg is an athletic H-back type who missed all of last year after tearing his ACL in preseason. The 27-year old former 7th round pick is 6'3", 244 pounds and caught 24 passes for 251 yards and two scores in his first three seasons with the Bills.
The Jets took a flyer on the speedster Cannon after he was released by the 49ers earlier in the offseason. The rookie had supposedly failed to impress coaches with a questionable attitude and work ethic and presumably that was the case with the Jets as well. Unless he is claimed off waivers, the Jets will be on the hook for $40,000 of guaranteed salary in respect of Cannon.
In other news the Jets confirmed that Jeremy Clark will start camp on the active/NFI list. Since his ACL injury pre-dates him being drafted they are entitled to put him on the non-football injury list and will not be on the hook for any salary if he remains on the injury list all year, although in such situations teams will usually agree to pay the player a split salary of some kind. He can be activated once healthy.
Nose tackle Steve McLendon said yesterday that everyone who took the conditioning test passed it, suggesting the other 89 rostered players will be available for the first practice on Saturday.
We'll share a detailed look at Gragg on Saturday morning.
