Roster News: Jets sign five to active roster, place five on injured reserve

The Jets made a series of moves ahead of Sunday's game:

All five of the players placed on injured reserve were already ruled out for Sunday so there's no surprises there.

Of the five players coming up, Will Parks makes sense with two defensive backs being out and the two offensive linemen are likely just going to provide cover with only six healthy linemen previously on the 53. Charles will make his NFL debut and could get a chance to contribute as a gunner. Anae is an interesting addition who is perhaps getting rewarded for working hard on the practice squad all year.

Some or all of these five may have signed a deal that runs through 2023 rather than expiring at the end of the season. Anae could fall into that category.

Somewhat surprisingly, the Jets did NOT add Chris Streveler to the roster so they will just have Joe Flacco and Zach Wilson available for Sunday.

The Jets will close their season with six open spots on their practice squad. Those players who end the year on the practice squad could sign a futures deal after the season.
