Roster News: Jets sign DL Kendall Reyes
The Jets have made a roster move on their day off:
Source: the Jets have signed former Chargers DL Kendall Reyes. He was out of football in 2017.

Reyes, who is 28 and a 300-pounder, started 47 of the next 48 games after having recorded 5.5 sacks for the Chargers in his rookie year in 2012. However, he has played in just 12 games - with no starts and just 20 tackles and one sack - since leaving San Diego at the end of the 2015 season.
In all, Reyes - who was a second round pick in 2012 - has 14.5 career sacks, although only four of those have come since 2013. He has not been a player who has graded out well on Pro Football Focus over the years, as he had the worst overall grade for 3-4 defensive ends in the entire league in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Recent addition Shaneil Jenkins missed practice the other day, so they may have brought Reyes in for short term cover or to take his spot. We'll update you when the Jets announce the corresponding cut. UPDATE: Jenkins was indeed the casualty; waived/injured per ESPN's Rich Cimini.
We'll have a scouting report on Reyes in a few days...
