Roster News: Jets sign DL Blair

A name that was linked to the Jets early on in the free agency process has just been added:

Jets signed former 49ers’ DE Ronald Blair, per source. Blair is reunited in NY with Jets’ HC Robert Saleh.

Blair, a favorite of Saleh's apparently, tore his ACL in the middle of the 2019 season and hasn't played since then. The 28-year old former fifth round pick has 13.5 sacks in his career, including 5.5 in 2018.

He was a 3-4 end in college, but lost a bit of weight and has played on the edge with the 49ers. He posted poor numbers at the combine, but improved on them significantly at his pro day.

Blair will compete for playing time with the likes of John Franklin-Myers and Kyle Phillips
