Turk has never been on an NFL roster having gone undrafted in 2013. He reportedly attended the Texans' rookie mini-camp that year having done 26 bench press reps and a 32" vertical jump at his pro day.
Turk's uncle Matt was a three-time pro bowler who was the Jets' punter for the 2002 season.
After a solid 2017 campaign, Lachlan Edwards is likely to retain the punter role for the next year or two, but bringing in a camp leg to push him in case he falters is never a bad idea.
