We wrote about the Sterling signing when it was initially report last night.
Stringfellow's release isn't much of a surprise either. As we wrote at the time of his acquisition, the plan from the start may have been to move him onto the practice squad before opening day anyway. Of course, he'll have to clear waivers to do so.
The Jets may make a transaction later today, as they could look to place fullback Julian Howsare on the practice squad (again, assuming he clears waivers). They'll need to clear a spot to do so - and then probably another one tomorrow, assuming Stringfellow proved himself worthy of a spot at practice yesterday.
We'll provide an in-depth scouting report on Sterling in a few days, provided he remains on the roster.
