Roster News: Jets release LB Randell Johnson

The Jets today confirmed that they have released linebacker Randell Johnson. Johnson, a former Bill, has played both outside and inside linebacker during his career but had primarily been a special teamer.

After the Jets claimed him off the Rams' practice squad in December, Johnson saw action on special teams in the penultimate game of last season against the Patriots.

The move leaves the Jets with one open roster spot, not including the spot that will be freed up when they cut ties with Eric Decker.
