Roster News: Jets release Derrick Jones, re-sign TE Truesdell

A surprise roster move here:

We have signed TE Nick Truesdell and waived CB Derrick Jones.

Jones had a disappointing game on Thursday night, with Kelvin Shepard burning him for a long gain, but it's a shock move for a player some were hoping would push Darryl Roberts for a starting role.

It will be very interesting to see who moves up to the second unit. Perhaps Art Maulet or Bless Austin will be ready to return soon.

Truesdell practiced twice with the Jets last week before being released. His return might mean that one of the tight ends on the roster picked up a minor injury or something.
