Roster News: Jets cut McGovern, elevate Sheffield and confirm Mosley, Lazard and Schweitzer moves

The Jets have announced their pre-game roster moves for Sunday:

We have made the following moves:

- Activated WR Allen Lazard & OL Wes Schweitzer off IR
- Elevated DB Kendall Sheffield
- Placed LB CJ Mosley on IR
- Released OL Connor McGovern

McGovern's release isn't a massive surprise now that Schweitzer is back and Xavier Newman has been activated for practice. Let's not forget that he was only on the practice squad prior to being poached, so having spent time on the 53 after being re-acquired from the Saints, so he can now return to there.

In other news, the Jets also ruled out Breece Hall and Qwan'tez Stiggers. Hall was doubtful anyway, but Stiggers being out is a shame because before he fell ill he had a chance for extra playing time with Sauce Gardner hurt. Brandin Echols will start and Jarrick Bernard-Converse could move up into the rotation. Sheffield will likely take over some of Echols' special teams duties.
