Roster News: Jets confirm Cadet signing, place Peake on IR

Here's confirmation of the report we shared earlier today:

Peake would have been a candidate to be released next week when Jalin Marshall's suspension ends anyway so placing him on injured reserve, regardless of how serious his ankle injury is, enables them to retain his rights and perhaps even re-activate him later in the season if appropriate.

X-Rays were also reportedly negative on Matt Forté's toe injury but he still has a turf toe and could miss Sunday's game and perhaps more, accelerating the need to bring Cadet aboard.

Josh Martin and Muhammad Wilkerson are also both missing practice today, apparently, but Brian Winters and Eric Tomlinson had helmets for the warm-up, so look ready to return.
