Roster News: Jets claim three more players

Having already claimed tight end Will Tye, we suspected the Jets weren't finished. They also claimed wide receivers Damore'ea Stringfellow (from Miami) and Kalif Raymond (from Denver) as well as linebacker Edmond Robinson (from Minnesota).

Briefly:

Stringfellow is a 6'2" rookie from Ole Miss who entered the draft early and then went undrafted after he only ran a 4.6 at his pro day. In preseason with Miami, he caught a 99-yard touchdown and three other catches for 31 yards. He didn't play in the last two games - perhaps because they were "hiding" him? Stringfellow has had some legal concerns in his past.

The 5'9", 160-pound Raymond has clearly been targeted for his return skills. He saw limited action with the Broncos last year as a rookie out of Holy Cross, averaging 23 yards per kickoff return and 10 yards per punt return. He also had a couple of nice returns and five catches for them in preseason this year.

Robinson, who is 6'4" and 230, was a seventh round pick out of Newberry in 2015. He started two games for the Vikings at the end of his rookie season but has primarily just been a special teamer for them. He's an off-ball linebacker, not a pass rusher, and runs a 4.6 40-yard dash.

It's not uncommon for a team to claim a player that a team wishes to sneak onto their practice squad only to then release that player and attempt to sneak them onto their own practice squad, so these four players (including Tye) may not be secure on the 53 yet.

We'll update you with the corresponding moves later today and we'll have scouting reports on any of these players that are kept on the roster later this week.
