Roster News: Jets claim T Deculus, release Smart

The Jets made one roster move after last night's game:

The #Jets waived DL Tanzel Smart and claimed OT Austin Deculus off waivers from the Texans.

Deculus was a 6th-round pick of Houston out of LSU in 2022. He has played in 12 games, including 7 this year with 1 start.

Deculus only plays tackle but is still only 24 so may have some upside.

Smart could end up back on the practice squad yet again but his release perhaps paves the way for Perrion Winfrey to get his shot.
