Roster News: Jets claim Balducci off waivers

We're still waiting for official confirmation of UDFA signings and corresponding cuts, but there has been one transaction today as the Jets have claimed G/C Alex Balducci from the 49ers per Brian Costello of the New York Post. The team confirmed the move on their offical website.

The 23-year old Balducci is 6'4", 290 and was an undrafted rookie last year out of Oregon. He played defensive tackle for the Ducks, but converted to offensive tackle with the 49ers, spending most of the season on the practice squad.

He's a pretty good athlete who ran a 5.01 40-yard dash at 309 pounds at his pro day last year. He was activated for the last two games, but only saw the field on three offensive snaps at guard. He had played center in preseason.
