Roster News: Holmes added to active roster

The Jets have announced their pre-game roster moves:

#Jets IR for Jermaine Johnson, signed Jalyn Holmes to active roster, elevated Marcelino McCrary-Ball

Holmes was elevated for the first two games and has been contributing with Leonard Taylor having been inactive so far. He adds value because of his ability to play on the edge as well, especially in light of Johnson's injury.

The Jets need special teams reinforcements with Jamien Sherwood likely to be more focused on his defensive duties this week so elevating a linebacker always seemed likely and McCrary-Ball already saw action on special teams last season so he was the obvious call-up.
