Roster News: Jets add Flacco and White to Covid-19 reserve, sign kicker

The Jets had already apparently decided that Zach Wilson would start against the Texans on Sunday but now there's another complication:

The Jets have placed QB Joe Flacco and QB Mike White on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Josh Johnson remains on the practice squad and could be elevated as a Covid-19 replacement to back up Wilson on Sunday without having to be signed to the 53-man roster.

The Jets also made a minor roster move:

We've signed K Alex Kessman to the practice squad and released LB Corey Thompson from the practice squad.

After missing two field goals on Sunday, Matt Ammendola's spot is clearly in jeopardy. Kessman, an undrafted rookie, was released before preseason after having signed with the Chargers in May. He made 73 percent of his field goals and 97 percent of his extra points in four years as Pitt's kicker.
