Roster News: DE Xavier Cooper to sign with Jets
Here's a report that the Jets are making another roster move:
Former #49ers DE Xavier Cooper is signing with the #Jets, source said. The third-rounder from 2015 started with the #Browns.

Cooper has probably been brought in as cover for Ed Stinson, who was injured in Sunday's game. He's more of a run stopper than an edge defender at 6'3" and 293 pounds, but pretty athletic for his size.
Cooper was a disappointment in Cleveland as he struggled against the run as a rookie and was a healthy scratch several times last year. He got kind of lost in the shuffle with all their other young linemen and ended up with just two starts in two seasons, during which he recorded 39 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
After being released in final cuts this year, he played five games with the 49ers, registering seven tackles and 0.5 sacks.
No corresponding move has been announced yet, but this could just replace the roster spot opened up by Jeremy Kerley's suspension or perhaps Stinson is going onto injured reserve.
We'll provide an in-depth scouting report on Cooper in due course.
