And the corresponding move was predictable enough:
The Jets will bring up RB De’Angelo Henderson from the practice squad to be their third running back for tomorrow’s game against the Texans. #nyj

The 25-year old Henderson is 5'7" and a shifty runner who was a fan favorite with the Broncos. He hasn't played much in the regular season but ran for 231 yards on 54 carries in preseason over the last two years. He was already briefly activated in October but did not play.
Crowell hadn't missed a game in his four years with the Browns but had a number of injury issues with the Jets. He is under contract at a reasonable rate for next year, but we'll have to see whether the team retains him.
Crowell ended up the season with 685 yards and six touchdowns at an average of 4.8 yards per carry, as well as making 21 catches for 152 yards. However, he was very inconsistent with 419 of those rushing yards coming in his three best games, which included his team-record 219-yard effort against the Broncos.
