Roster News: Braden waived for Pierre-Louis; Kearse returns to practice

According to Todd Bowles, the Jets have waived offensive lineman Ben Braden to make room on the roster for Kevin Pierre-Louis, who has just served a one-game suspension.

The Jets also released their first injury report of the week. Three players missed practice including Marcus Maye and Josh Martin, who had also missed Monday night's game with a foot injury and a concussion respectively. The other player to miss practice was Neville Hewitt, who has been listed with a knee injury. Martin was in pads and did at least stretch and do some work with the trainers.

Everyone else practiced full, including Jermaine Kearse who was limited last week and missed the game as he rehabs from an abdominal issue.

The Pierre-Louis decision might have been made easier by Hewitt's absence, which would have left them light at the position. While Brandon Copeland and Frankie Luvu could play inside linebacker in an emergency, Hewitt was otherwise the only back-up to Darron Lee and Avery Williamson.

Braden had a good preseason and the team seems high on him. They'll presumably add him to the practice squad - there is a vacant spot - as long as he clears waivers. Braden, who was inactive on Monday, spent all of last year on the practice squad too.
