Roster News: Avery Williamson traded to Pittsburgh

A late night roster move:

The #Jets are trading LB Avery Williamson to the #Steelers, source said and they are swapping picks: PIT 2022 5th rounder for NYJ’s 2022 7th rounder. Williamson fills a position of need for Pittsburgh.

This might not be the last trade we see ahead of Tuesday’s deadline as the Jets continue to bolster their draft capital and make cap savings.

Williamson’s tenure with the Jets was essentially wrecked by his preseason injury last year but he’s a good guy and most fans will wish him well with the Steelers.
