Roster News: RB Akeem Judd signed to active roster
The Jets today made a flurry of roster moves in addition to the expected Josh McCown-to-IR move:
We have activated RB Akeem Judd from the practice squad, placed QB Josh McCown on IR and signed 2 others to the practice squad.

Judd was a teammate of Jets rookie Derrick Jones at Ole Miss, where he rushed for 830 yards and six scores last year, with three 100 yard rushing performances in the last four games of the season. He's a 24-year old rookie and busted for a 40-yard run with the Titans in preseason, although his other 10 carries netted just 15 yards.
His signing probably means that Elijah McGuire's ankle injury is going to keep him out of action for at least this weekend, if not longer.
New practice squad addition Jahad Thomas had been on the Jets roster in preseason and you can read a detailed scouting report here.
The other practice squad addition, Joel Stave, is a 6'5" quarterback who was undrafted last season. He's been with four different NFL teams but never on an active roster. He completed 28 of 51 passes for 285 yards and an interception in preseason last year and 4 of 9 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown this year.
Offensive lineman Geoff Gray apparently left the practice squad to sign with another team. He had been on the practice squad all year, so his departure is disappointing.
We'll share a scouting report on Judd in a few days...
