Roster News: Jets to activate Jalin Marshall, release Marcus Williams
Well, this is surprising:
Bowles says #Jets will promote WR Jalin Marshall and are releasing CB Marcus Williams

Williams was given a second round RFA tender during the offseason, so he was costing them $2.5 million despite the fact this week was the first week he got any defensive snaps.
The move suggests that Juston Burris and/or Darryl Roberts must be expected to be healthy for this weekend's game.
Marshall will presumably factor into the return game for the Jets, especially on kickoffs, where he did a decent job last year. Personally, I'd prefer Jeremy Kerley to remain on punts. This could lead to a further reduction in playing time for rookies Chad Hansen and ArDarius Stewart on offense.
Todd Bowles also stated that the Jets aren't looking at signing any other running backs which perhaps suggests Bilal Powell or Matt Forté (or both) won't be out for much longer.
