Buzz: Conflicting reports on status of Bryce Petty's knee
An initial report looked like good news for Bryce Petty:
Sigh of relief: Jets QB Bryce Petty suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain and hopes to play Thursday night, per source. Ready for regular season.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 27, 2017
However, a report via PFT citing Ian Rapoport suggests that the injury is "considerable".
If Schefter's report is correct, it will be interesting to see how the Jets employ their quarterbacks on Thursday. Based on last night's game, Petty has made a strong case to be considered as the number two.
However, if Petty is going to be out a while, then the Jets will probably have to bring in some cover.
