Practice Recap - 8/5/19
The Jets were back on the field for a public practice/scrimmage this morning. Here's what went down according to social media reports from those in attendance:
- Ryan Kalil and Leonard Williams did not practice;
- Quinnen Williams, Nathan Shepherd and Tarell Basham got first team reps on defense;
- Kelvin Beachum and Daniel Brown were back at practice;
- Trumaine Johnson made a diving interception of Sam Darnold following a miscommunication;
- Darnold had a quiet day although he threw a touchdown pass to Quincy Enunwa in 7-on-7's;
- Jachai Polite got some constant pressure off the edge with three "sacks" in a row at one point;
- Trenton Cannon forced a fumble from Greg Dortch in a special teams drill;
- The defense kept the offense out of the end zone in a red zone scrimmage with Brian Poole disrupting two passes;
- Foley Fatukasi, James Burgess and Bronson Kaufusi all made plays on defense;
- Trevor Siemian threw a touchdown to Deontay Burnett;
- Valentine Holmes caught a long touchdown pass from Luke Falk; and
- Chandler Catanzaro missed a 44-yard field goal but made a 54-yarder.
