Practice Recap: 6/6/23
Media was on hand for the Jets' on-field OTA session today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:
- Mecole Hardman, Randall Cobb, Breece Hall, Bam Knight, Tyler Conklin, Mekhi Becton and Micheal Clemons were among those working over by the side;
- Aaron Rodgers did everything apart from 11-on-11's;
- Chris Streveler impressed on a drill where the quarterbacks tried to hit a target after fielding a bad snap. He went 6-for-6 whereas Zach Wilson went just 1-for-5;
- Wilson made a good start in 11-on-11's though, going 5-for-5, including a good throw to Allen Lazard;
- Bryce Hall got beaten a few times early on;
- Carl Lawson and Jermaine Johnson both had would-be sacks. Lawson beat Max Mitchell, who was working with the first unit;
- Streveler threw an pick-six to Trey Dean in 11-on-11's. The pass was thrown behind Irvin Charles and off his hands;
- Rodgers opened up 4-for-5 in 7-on-7's highlighted by a sidearm completion to UDFA back Travis Dye. He also hit Charles, Wilson and Uzomah on short passes;
- In 7-on-7 red zone work Rodgers had two touchdowns (to Garrett Wilson and Jason Brownlee) and a defensive penalty in five attempts. Xavier Gipson dropped what should have been another touchdown. Wilson went up over DJ Reed for his score on an 8-yard back shoulder fade;
- Zach Wilson went 0-for-5 with some ugly throws including a near-interception; and
- Steveler had a touchdown to Ace Carter.
