Nuggets from OTAs on day one
After just one day of practice, we'll try not to overreact to anything, but here are some brief notes on what went down:
- Most of the team showed up, with the only high-profile no-show being safety Calvin Pryor. Pryor was the subject of trade speculation around draft time. Remember that these sessions are voluntary.
- Eric Decker was wearing a red no-contact jersey but participated in individual and team drills.
- Josh McCown took first team reps at quarterback and seemed to have a good practice, although he was intercepted on a deep pass by Morris Claiborne late on.
- The assembled media noted that tight ends Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Jordan Leggett both had good practices.
- Due to injuries on the line, Brent Qvale, Dakota Dozier and Ben Ijalana saw reps with the first team offense. Perhaps surprisingly, Brandon Shell did not, although he was apparently healthy.
Those were the main takeaways from today. We'll update you on what the coaches and players tell the media soon.
