Jets Training Camp Practice Recap - 8/5/24
Media were on hand for the Jets' training camp practice today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:
- The Jets were in full pads again;
- Deuce Carter missed practice again but Sauce Gardner returned;
- Tyron Smith had another veteran rest day but Morgan Moses was back in there;
- There was plenty of work on the running game with Breece Hall and Braelon Allen getting most of the touches;
- Lance McCutcheon caught a deep pass 40 yards down the field on a gadget play;
- Aaron Rodgers hit Jason Brownlee for a downfield catch with Gardner covering;
- Gardner forced an incompletion with good coverage on Garrett Wilson;
- Jamien Sherwood intercepted Rodgers off a deflection;
- Brownlee was shaken up on an incompletion downfield from Tyrod Taylor but soon returned and caught a pass from Taylor;
- The Jets did a drill where they were backed-up near their own end zone and it didn't go well for the first team offense with a Moses false start and a botched exchange;
- Taylor made a good play though to find Irv Charles in traffic with Jarrick Bernard-Converse all over him. Chales limped off towards the end of practice though;
- Eric Watts sacked Adrian Martinez for a would-be safety;
- Will McDonald penetrated to sack Rodgers; and
- In a two-minute drill, the defense "won" as Rodgers threw incomplete to Tyler Conklin and Hall was stopped on a catch in the flat. After a light practice, Rodgers was 3 for 8 with an interception in 11-on-11's.
