Jets Training Camp Practice Recap - 7/29/24

Media were on hand for the Jets' training camp practice today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:

  • The team was in pads for the first time this summer;
  • Tyron Smith was in action but Morgan Moses was not;
  • Breece Hall had a nice run on the first play of 11-on-11's;
  • Aaron Rodgers was then intercepted by Chuck Clark with the pass going off Allen Lazard's hands;
  • Leki Fotu followed this up by penetrating to blow up a Braelon Allen run;
  • Malachi Corley got some first team reps, as did Malik Taylor after the Lazard drop;
  • On the second unit, Allen had a nice run;
  • Rodgers would have been sacked twice on the first unit's next series with Quinnen Williams, Javon Kinlaw and Sam Eguavoen in on the pressure but Rodgers did complete short passes to Tyler Conklin and Garrett Wilson;
  • Malachi Corey and Tarik Cohen got touches with the second unit;
  • Andrew Peasley completed a quick pass to Irv Charles on the third team;
  • Greg Zuerlein hit three of four field goals but hit the upright from beyond 50 yards;
  • Jeremy Ruckert limped off on the first play of the next session;
  • Rodgers was frustrated after a sloppy couple of plays including a bad snap and a lineman stepping on his foot. He then threw behind Malik Taylor;
  • Peasley was intercepted by Al Blades Jr.;
  • Rodgers connected with Wilson over by the sideline, working one-on-one against DJ Reed;
  • After another bad snap, Rodgers was even more heated and then again couldn't connect with Taylor as the high pass was off his hands over the middle;
  • Joe Tippmann started working on his shotgun snaps over at the side;
  • Allen had a physical run that saw him truck Tony Adams and stiff-arm another defender;
  • Zaire Barnes had a tackle for loss and Jarrick Bernard-Converse broke up a pass;
  • Rodgers escaped the pocket and ran for a first down in a drive the field drill, then completed a pass to Conklin; and
  • Corley caught a Rodgers pass in the red zone but Brandon Codrington made an immediate tackle to prevent any further yardage and the drive stalled with Rodgers ending up 8-for-13 in 11-on-11's.
