Jets Training Camp Practice Recap - 7/25/24

Media (and fans) were on hand for the Jets' training camp practice today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:

  • Alijah Vera-Tucker and Morgan Moses missed team drills again, with Wes Schweitzer and Max Mitchell on the right side like yesterday. Mitchell apparently looked good;
  • Micheal Clemons and Javon Kinlaw started with the first unit on the defensive line, with Jermaine Johnson and Quinnen Williams.;
  • Brandon Codrington had a fumble on a return drill;
  • Aaron Rodgers connected on a 40-yard bomb to Garrett Wilson on the first snap of team drills. Wilson beat DJ Reed;
  • Breece Hall (twice) and Braelon Allen opened with good runs, behind Tyron Smith and John Simpson's good blocking;
  • Simpson had a false start and Xavier Newman replaced him. Later on, Simpson had another false start. Tyron Smith, who had a good practice was also removed after a false start;
  • Allen Lazard made another good catch by the sideline;
  • Isaiah Davis got a carry on the second unit's first play;
  • Tyrod Taylor completed a short pass to Zack Kuntz;
  • Tarik Cohen cut back and bounced outside for a nice gain;
  • Takk McKinley had a couple of sacks on back to back plays against the second team offense, beating Austin Deculus;
  • Izzy Abanikanda had a big run up the middle working on the third unit again;
  • 7-on-7's got underway with a nice throw from Rodgers to Jeremy Ruckert;
  • Hall then made a nice diving catch over by the sideline as everyone else was covered;
  • Wilson beat Reed again deep but the pass fell incomplete as Reed looked to have interfered with him;
  • On a third down drill, the first unit converted three straight times on Rodgers passes to Hall, Wilson and Tyler Conklin. Hall juked Quincy Williams on his catch and Wilson beat Deuce Carter to get good yards after the catch;
  • Qwan'tez Stiggers came up with a possible interception on defense, although he perhaps came down out of bounds;
  • McKinley had his third sack of the day;
  • Sauce Gardner broke up a pass to Wilson for the first incompletion of the day;
  • Lazard then had his first drop of camp, with Xavier Gipson limping off on the play;
  • Rodgers bounced back with a quick completion to Ruckert;
  • Wilson made a good catch despite falling down;
  • On a drive the field drill, Rodgers hit Conklin for 15 on 4th-and-5; and
  • Practice once again ended with a red zone touchdown from Rodgers to Lazard, who beat Carter on an out pattern. Rodgers ended up 13-for-15.
