Jets select LSU safety Jamal Adams with the 6th pick
After the board seemed to fall kindly for them, the Jets selected LSU safety Jamal Adams with the sixth pick of the draft. Adams visited the Jets last week after which it was reported that they really liked him but did not expect him to fall to them at six.
Adams is a great leader who ran a 4.33 40-yard dash at his pro day and is a safety who can contribute both in run defense and coverage.
Mike Mayock on NFL Network said that "If you pair him with Gilchrist, all of a sudden you've got one of the best safety tandems in football".
Deion Sanders for some reason told Adams "You do know that the Jets are not rebuilding - they wanna win now." Adams replied "We're gonna get this thing rolling and we're gonna get back to the Super Bowl".
Analysis to follow tomorrow, but for now, let's hear your take on this pick. Stay in the official thread to discuss the ongoing events in the draft.
