Jets Camp Practice Recap - 8/6/23
Media was on hand for the Jets' training camp practice today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:
- Carl Lawson was not at practice;
- Zach Wilson looked sharp in 7 on 7's;
- Aaron Rodgers got off to a 6 for 6 start in 11 on 11 drills with pinpoint completions to Jeremy Ruckert and Corey Davis who made a toe-tapping sideline grab;
- Jermaine Johnson left team drills and was checked on by trainers;
- Mecole Hardman ran for a big play after a short Rodgers pass;
- Tyler Conklin caught a pass in traffic, zipped over the middle by Rodgers;
- TJ Luther and Justin Hardee were involved in a skirmish;
- Quincy Williams limped to the medical tent after being banged up following a Conklin catch in a two minute drill;
- Laken Tomlinson was also removed from team drills and checked over. Wes Schweitzer took over with the first unit;
- Rodgers also hit Davis and Hardman on the drive to get into field goal range. Greg Zuerlein hit a 43 yard kick;
- Wilson also got the team into field goal range on passes to Nick Bawden, Ruckert, Kenny Yeboah and Jason Brownlee, followed by a draw to Izzy Abanikanda and a spike;
- Ace Carter had a good day running the ball; and
- Practice ended on a Rodgers throw that Sauce Gardner intercepted and ran back for a 100-yard score.
