Jets Camp Practice Recap - 8/10/23
Media was on hand for the Jets' training camp practice today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:
- The originally planned joint practice with the Panthers was cancelled due to the weather so the Jets had an unpadded light practice without them;
- Garrett Wilson returned to team drills and Sauce Gardner returned to individual drills;
- Jason Brownlee passed concussion protocol but was out with a neck injury. He had returned to practice after a hit to the head yesterday;
- Wilson caught a short pass from Aaron Rodgers on the second play of team drills;
- Rodgers connected on a well-timed sideline throw to Malik Taylor who was tightly covered by DJ Reed;
- Zach Wilson was almost intercepted on a risky throw to Xavier Gipson into double coverage;
- Rodgers went 6-for-7 in 11-on-11's with quick completions to Tyler Conklin and Wilson and two each to CJ Uzomah and Bam Knight. The second completion to Knight was a short pass that went for a big gain;
- Wilson rifled a 15-yard touchdown pass to Gipson due to a blown coverage; and
- Solomon Thomas beat Billy Turner for a sack to end practice. Turner was back at left tackle with Max Mitchell back on the right;
