Jets Camp Practice Recap - 8/1/23
Media was on hand for the Jets' training camp practice today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:
- The Jets were not in pads for a light practice ahead of Thursday night's hall of fame game;
- Corey Davis and John Franklin-Myers returned to practice;
- Sauce Gardner came up and made a tackle in the backfield as Ace Carter tried to bounce a run outside;
- Wes Schweitzer worked as the first unit center again;
- There was a big fight with Laken Tomlinson, Jermaine Johnson and Tanzel Smart among those who were involved;
- Will McDonald flushed Aaron Rodgers from the pocket but he ran for a positive gain;
- Carl Lawson used a swim move on Mekhi Becton to get into the backfield and blow up a run;
- Jason Brownlee continues to shine as he made an amazing one handed catch from Zach Wilson. He hurt his arm or shoulder on the play but did return;
- Tim Boyle connected downfield with Jerome Kapp and TJ Luther;
- Rodgers hit a red zone touchdown to CJ Uzomah;
- Deuce Carter and Gardner had red zone breakups;
- Jeremy Ruckert had a redzone drop but attoned immediately with a contested catch for a touchdown from Rodgers to end practice; and
- Greg Zuerlein missed a 48-yarder but made his other three kicks.
