Jets Camp Practice Recap - 8/5/23
Media was on hand for the Jets' training camp practice today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:
- Chris Streveler (with a wrap on his throwing hand), Chazz Surratt (hamstring injury on Thursday night) and Garrett Wilson (ankle injury last week) were working in the rehab area;
- Connor McGovern was once again working as the number one center;
- Corey Davis made a diving catch on an Aaron Rodgers pass in traffic during 11-on-11 drills;
- Zach Wilson connected with a wide open Xavier Gipson down the field;
- Rodgers used a pump fake to escape John Franklin-Myers and scramble for positive yardage and then hit on a downfield connection to Malik Taylor on the next play;
- He was, however, unsuccessful on three deep passes over the course of practice;
- Wilson continued to look sharp as he hit on throws to Kenny Yeboah, Jason Brownlee and Irvin Charles;
- On a gadget play, Mecole Hardman threw a pass that Jordan Whitehead intercepted in the end zone;
- Rodgers came up limping after getting stepped on during a play where Jermaine Johnson created some pressure. He stepped out for a play and then returned;
- Having returned, Rodgers hit on a pass over the middle to Tyler Conklin;
- In red zone action, Rodgers hit Jeremy Ruckert for a touchdown although Will McDonald may have had a sack on the play; and
- Practice ended on a Rodgers touchdown pass to Allen Lazard.
