Injury Update: S Rontez Miles out for 3-4 months following knee surgery
Bad news for the Jets' safety depth here, perhaps shedding light on the team's interest in JJ Wilcox:
#Jets S Rontez Miles underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus and is out 3-4 months, source said. He’s a possible Injured Reserve/to return candidate. A blow to depth.

Miles is a key special teams performer who led the league in solo tackles in kick coverage last year, but also played a role in three and four safety packages off the bench.
He will presumably be placed onto the PUP list in training camp, perhaps with a view to a return during the season.
