Injury update: Rontez Miles to miss Sunday's game
After today's practice, Todd Bowles confirmed that Rontez Miles suffered an orbital bone fracture in two places and will not play in the season opener on Sunday.
Miles is a key special teams contributor and his absence also means that that are left with just Terrence Brooks in terms of back-up safeties. However, Todd Bowles has said in the past that he trains up his defensive backs to be able to play any position so they may opt not to make a move and just move someone like Marcus Williams back there if they need cover. Williams has played some safety in 2015, but did not fare well.
Bowles also confirmed that despite what the official depth chart says, he hasn't decided on the back-up quarterback yet and refuses to confirm the starting tackles, outside linebackers and kick returners for "strategic reasons".
