How the hell am I supposed to know who this is? - Frankie Luvu

In a new occasional feature, we're going to briefly highlight any of the lesser-known players that make an impact at camp. Today, we focus on Frankie Luvu.

What he did:

Luvu was surprisingly working with the first unit to begin the Green & White practice at Rutgers on Saturday night and has continued to start in the two practices since then as it's clear the Jets want an extended look at him. He's also been making some plays:

Where he came from:

Luvu was one of the Jets' undrafted free agent signings this year, although he didn't sign until after rookie camp, which he was invited to attend on a tryout basis.

He played both as an off-ball linebacker and an edge defender at Washington State, where he had a career-high 6.5 sacks in his senior year.

Outlook:

The outside linebacker roles seem up for grabs so if Luvu can impress in preseason, then he has a good chance to make the roster. However, the team did a similar thing with Frank Beltre last year and he didn't do enough in preseason to lock down a spot.
