How did Bent's bold predictions for 2024 hold up?

Coming soon will be Bent's bold predictions for the 2025 offseason via SNY. However, can we put any stock into these predictions? Let's recap last year's suggestions...

Bryce Huff won’t be back, but the Jets won’t immediately use Will McDonald to replace him

This was a perfect prediction because the Jets brought in Haason Reddick to replace Huff. Unfortunately, the holdout and Jermaine Johnson's injury hastened McDonald's ascension to full-time starter but at least he's looking like a core piece for the short-to-mid term future now.

Trevor Siemian will be back, but as the number three quarterback

This never happened, as Aaron Rodgers stayed healthy enough that the team never really needed an experienced number three. It was almost certainly a fallback plan throughout the season, though.

The Jets will revisit some of the moves they failed to pull off last year

Of the examples cited, the Jets ultimately managed to acquire Davante Adams, although it wasn't until the season was already underway. Clearly they kept re-visiting the possibility though. Also, bringing back Morgan Moses was apparently something they had also tried to do in the previous season. And, they repeated a move that they pulled off but which backfired due to injury when they re-signed Chuck Clark. Maybe we're stretching the premise now though.

There will be coaching changes after all

There weren't any significant coaching changes in the offseason, but it wasn't long into the season before they would come. As we've reported on JetsFix, Kliff Kingsbury very nearly took an offensive consultancy role with the team before ending up as Washington's new offensive coordinator and other media sources have reported that Arthur Smith was also considered for a similar role.

The offensive line will be addressed long before the draft

We nailed this one, as the Jets signed two starters and traded for a third in March. Even so, they still used their first pick on an offensive tackle after moving down a spot.

Basically, five perfect predictions, we're sure you'll agree. It's a lot to live up to and more difficult than ever to guess what's going to happen in 2025, but we'll do our best to repeat the trick.
