Front office update: Who could Joe Douglas add to his staff?
The Jets filled their general manager vacancy by hiring Joe Douglas, but there's an expectation he might now seek to overhaul their entire scouting and personnel operation.
Potential Candidates
Champ Kelly, one of the four candidates for the general manager role is in line for a job. In fact, one report suggests he will be hired as assistant general manager. Kelly spent a year with Douglas in Chicago, but also shared several years on the Broncos with Adam Gase prior to that.
Former Browns general manager Phil Savage was rumored to be speaking to the Jets about a possible role some time this week. Savage, who has worked both in scouting and the pro personnel departments, was a colleague of Douglas' in Baltimore.
They were also rumored to be planning to speak to the current Ravens assistant director of pro personnel who is another former colleague of Douglas:

Not happening
Initially, it was rumored that TV draft analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Todd McShay were also candidates for a scouting role. However, Jeremiah ruled himself out pretty early on.
McShay then followed suit earlier today.

There was some speculation that Douglas could bring some Eagles executives with him, with Andy Weidl and Ian Cunningham in the frame. However, both received promotions in the wake of Douglas' departure so they seem set to stay in Philadelphia.
Finally, one potential candidate whose name would have sent shivers down Jets fans' spines was Mike Bradway, the son of former Jets general manager Terry Bradway. Bradway was in a front office role alongside Douglas in Philadelphia and had been garnering interest from around the league, but the Chiefs only hired him away from the Eagles last year, which seems to remove him from contention.
We'll keep you posted with any developments.
