Free agency update: The whole offseason is ruined!
Bad news overnight for Jets fans hoping that Todd Bowles would add one of his all-time favorite chess pieces for his 2018 defense:
Compensation update: Former Cardinals’ safety Tyrann “Honeybadger” Mathieu is signing a one-year, $7 million deal with the Houston Texans, per source.

Don't worry though, it's not so bad:
Man, I did my best I was workin the phones tryna bring my boy out here! But it's all good, #NewJackCity will be straight, Stay up y'all

Adams has also been trying to attract recently-released Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Vinny Curry. The veteran became expendable when the Super Bowl champions traded for Michael Bennett a few weeks ago.
With the Jets in the market for pass rushing upgrades, Curry could be a possibility. The 29-year old had nine sacks in 2014, but only has nine in three years since then. However, his pressure numbers were close to elite last year and he's a good run defender.
Curry is probably the biggest fish out there at the moment, but we're now entering the stage where teams look to find bargains or take flyers on possible damaged goods. There's also been a run on re-signings, with Morris Claiborne, Mike Pennel and Ben Ijalana all brought back within the last day or so. We'll keep you posted with any further developments.
